Brazilian food in Fitchburg: choosing your first meal

You do not need to know every Portuguese dish name to order Brazilian food. Start with how hungry you are and whether you want a plate, a snack or something to share. At Meritíssimo, the restaurant, bakery and pizzeria give you all three starting points.
For lunch, look for prato feito
Prato feito, often shortened to PF, is a plated meal. Our menu has a dedicated PF section, with the accompaniments described under each item. Read those descriptions instead of assuming every plate comes with the same sides. Feijoada, for example, has its own combination and is listed for Saturdays.
For a smaller stop, try the bakery and salgados
Coxinha, risole and pastel are savory snack choices. Pão de queijo and pão de sal belong to the bakery side of the menu. A pastel is a different item from a coxinha, and the fillings vary. If you are ordering for someone trying Brazilian food for the first time, pick a familiar filling and explain what you chose.
For sharing, explore Brazilian pizza
Our pizza menu includes calabresa, chicken with Catupiry and four cheese. Calabresa is Brazilian sausage, so it should not be mistaken for pepperoni. Check the size and toppings in the menu before ordering for the table. If your group wants different kinds of food, compare pizza with individual plates and snacks.
