Brazilian food near
Great Wolf Lodge

About 15 minutes from Great Wolf Lodge New England: fresh bread and coffee before the park opens, a hot Brazilian lunch, and salgados to take back to the room.

If you are staying at Great Wolf Lodge New England and you have had enough of the resort food court, you are about 15 minutes from a Brazilian bakery and restaurant — bread baked that morning, a hot buffet at lunch, and pizza at night.

We know the route matters more than the menu when you have tired kids in the car, so here it is plainly: leave the resort, head into Fitchburg on John Fitch Highway, and we are at number 377, in the Market Basket plaza. Parking at the door. No highway, no downtown, no meters.

Before the water park

We open at 7:00 am, which is earlier than almost everything else around the resort. What comes out of the oven first is the bread — pão de sal, still warm — plus pão de queijo, the Brazilian cheese bread that has converted a lot of American kids, and real coffee.

Families usually do one of two things: eat here before the wristbands go on, or take a bag of salgados back to the room for later. Both work. The salgados travel well and do not need to be reheated.

After the park

Lunch is the hot buffet, 12:00 to 3:30 pm, priced by the pound — rice, beans, grilled meats, salads. If you want the full Brazilian plate, ask for the prato feito: rice, beans, salad and your meat, all on one plate. At night the oven switches to Brazilian-style pizza, thin crust, with toppings you will not find at the resort — calabresa sausage, chicken with catupiry cream cheese.

One thing worth knowing

We are next door to a Market Basket. Plenty of guests stop here for the food and grab drinks and snacks for the room in the same trip.

Why Brazilian families keep finding us

Several of our reviews are from Brazilian families who were staying at the lodge, went looking for Brazilian food, and were surprised to find it this close. One family came back the same weekend. If you are one of those families: welcome — you found the right place, and you can order in Portuguese.
